Summer Lovin’…C2C Pathways youth gain real-world experience.

Year 2 is (almost) in the books! As students return to school this week our 13 Clubhouse to College/Career (C2C) Pathways youth are wrapping up their 100-hour paid summer internships at various businesses throughout the Denver Metro area. Returning partners iFuzion, Apex Systems and Best Buy were joined by several new partners this summer.

Youth spent their time gaining real-world experience in a variety of fields. This included talent recruitment for tech-related businesses, optometry, and freelance photography. Some of our youth were so impressive they were asked to stay longer than their 100 required hours!

Here’s what our partners are saying:

“I’m sad that this experience went by so quickly! Celine has been a gem and I know she will go far.” – iDE Denver

“It’s been great having [Becky] work with us this summer – she did a fantastic job!” – Lakewood Cultural Center

“We are very impresses with [Oracio]. He is polite, polished and dynamic. We’d say he has the ‘IT’ factor.” – Swire Coca Cola

This group started their C2C journey last fall with Phase 1 of the program. This included weekly professional development and personal strength exploration through Myers Briggs testing, monthly workshops and field trips. Phase 2 began in February and included STEAM-based career job shadowing that led to direct work with an industry partner on a real-world project. Those were completed in May and the three groups presented their projects to our partners on a Saturday in June.
