OUR STORY

Since opening our doors in 2003, over 15,000 youth have passed through them, drawn to a safe and supportive environment that allows them to express themselves creatively. The goal of our Enrichment Program is to provide a creative, accepting environment that encourages our members to imagine creatively, reason systematically and work collaboratively in order to learn continuously! As life-long learners, our staff facilitate this approach and apply these principles daily as they model curiosity, flexibility and perseverance.

The Clubhouse research based learning model is designed to empower youth from all backgrounds to become more capable, creative and confident learners.  This approach leverages new technologies to support new types of learning experiences and engage young people who have been alienated by traditional educational approaches, which establishes the culture of our Clubhouse and Catalyst programming. Our Clubhouse is at once an artist studio, inventor’s workshop, design house, hackerspace, music studio, and computer game development lab. With the encouraging support of staff members and volunteer mentors, youth unleash their talents, engage in peer-to-peer learning, and develop a unique voice of their own. In the process they become inspired about learning and about their own futures.
